A Picture of a Unique Stool Sample

By Franklyn Gallup of zzway.net

Keep in mind that the picture of the stool below is just a unique sample of pictures you can take at yard sales for creating articles.

I would think some people would forward the unique title along to friends and family or even tweet it along, but then again I have been wrong before but found out later that I was mistaken.

I was somewhat surprised to find no one had ever written an article with this title NOT!

The stool was red and very worn and well used. Some people like this primitive look and some people envision it as a refinishing project.

I also found an old wooden boot jack. Some people don't know jack but I remember this device well. It is used to remove the high rubber boots that farmers use to wallow through the muck and other nasty stuff in the course of farming. One simply stands on the flat part of the jack with one foot and hook the heel of the boot in the U shaped notch and pull your foot out. Often times the boot because it is rubber causes a lot of suction so the jack is really helpful in getting the boot off.

The next thing that caught my eye was some very old model train cars. I remember having a set of these. I think our set was a larger scale than this set and had a three rail system and putting the track together was almost as much fun as running the train.

I then saw and old clock on a shelf. This clock with Roman Numerals brought back memories of Grandma's house and my Great Aunt Ruth's house. I still remember sleeping over and hearing the clock chime out the hours at 2 o'clock in the morning.

Looking around I spotted some some old army bugles. I am fascinated with the history that these bugles bring to mind. You can see that they are resting on some old army uniforms.

Lastly I saw a picture which will be the setting for tomorrow's Intel. Redneck car show returns June 13
My camera can't wait LOL!

I just wanted you to know that when I saw the author, I didn't fall for that title at all.

Now I'm hurt I will have to get more creative.

Some might say it's a crappy title but I don't listen to those people anyway.

Echoing Jim, but love the stool! We had one in our house while I was growing up. I'm not sure what happened to it... I'm one of those who would sand it down and paint it.

And what color would you paint it and why?

If you are not a yard sale junkie, you would not believe the things you can find at them. I personally am a yard sale veteran. I have seen more things than I could tell in a lifetime and describe. I have bought and later sold more things than I could describe in this short comment.
I was a little taken aback by the title, but I was pretty sure it was not what you may have thought we would think.
In other words, we didn't think what you thought we would think, so what do you think of that?

I used to clean houses for Real Estate companies to get the houses ready to sell. Part of the job included getting rid of all the stuff left behind by the former owner.

The first thing I did was move everything out to the front lawn and have a lawn sale right at the house that weekend.

I would store what didn't sell and I had really low prices and people went crazy when they learned my prices so there wasn't much left. I would add it to the stuff on the next house and eventually was making more money selling the stuff than I was paid to clean the house.

What I was thinking was you guys would add some really good comments. I was weeding out the people who selectively screen Intels judging by the title.

Well the next time that ya have to see the ol' doctor and he asks you to bring in...

Yes and I will have 4 legs to stand on.

I just hope the doctor doesn't hit me in the funnybone with that little hammer he has.

Yep. I'm with Jim. I suspected immediately! LOL

Keeping you guys from being bored is part of my job.

I just submitted the Redneck Car Show Intel. Lots of pictures. I got several ideas from just that one adventure and a job sanding tabletops for a new barb b q restaurant.

They plan to have five saddles as seats to sit on at the bar. So there I have a sanding tabletops Intel and a Bar b Q Intel coming.

I also noticed a boxing ring that offers training at the mall which i hadn't noticed before so there is another Intel in the works ...and ...and then

I agree with Jim. Also, I like that stool and am a sucker for things like that that are fix-up-able at yard sales. Do you think buying that kind of furniture puts us at risk for termites? I bought two stools lately and put them out in the shed until I get a chance to look them over and then fix them up. They were 50 cents each. I love yard sales.

Did I hear you bought two stool samples because they were cheap? I don't think you are at any more risk than any other furniture you put out in the shed.

The only problem I find with boot sales (yard sales) is the number of times I see people making money selling stuff that I had thrown away - sometimes the actual articles!

The nerve of some people Well I survived my first ever kickboxing class and just submitted the Intel with some pictures. I didn't try the breaking bricks with my head yet.

I like the little red stool and its shadow... would love to see it finished. Great photo, thanks! :)

Some people who like primitive furniture think it is finished just the way it is. The shadow I threw in for free.
