Baby orange cars are raised on quarters
By Franklyn Gallup of FriendlyBank.net
Several years ago I took a road trip from Centralia, WA to Cape Canaveral, FL to spend some quality time with my mother. It's what I like to call the Continental Diagonal trip and it is about 3000 miles one way. My little Chevy Astro van has made the round trip twice now. One of the places I stop is to visit my brother, Will who lives in Cheyenne, WY. I usually stay about a day or two with him. We often go to church together and talk about things that brothers talk about and we usually get some of the problems of the Universe figured out in the process. I remember one afternoon going to the Mongolian grill in the middle of a snow storm. It was great fun. On one of the days we took a browse through the mall just window shopping and making conversation. The mall was having a car show that week so I got some pictures with my digital camera. One shot I really liked was a shot of an orange car that they had placed next to a quarter kiddie car which just happened to be the very same color of orange. I thought it was a cute picture and it brings back memories of the trip. |

I bet it took a lot of quarters to pay the gas for that trip. I live about an hour from the intersection of I-40 and I-75. You probably passed by

You didn't see me waving?
You know that whole "baby car" concept is not a bad marketing idea... I suspect that we'll see more of it.
What wonderful memories you must have from those trips to visit your brother. Great car pictures, too.
you have a great website. The pic of kiddie car is facinating. Now in my country India TATA has produced the small car at an very affordable class, it really helps a commoner in a devolping country. Anshubaba
Spain now has cars with 50cc engines for people without driving licences - they are quite samll, quite slow and mostly damaged. I wonder why! I envy you your long drive - not being able to drive has really made a huge impact on my life.
Great shot! But there's gotta be more. Looking forward to more Diagonal posts.

There is more and it is coming to a article directory near you soon.
Great story, Franklyn. Thank you for sharing the moments and the pictures. Keep up the good work. Best wishes. Frederick
I like those cars, including the color orange. I would like the little one in solar/electric power, small enough to stick in the back of my van. I already have a hydraulic lift installed, although it may not be powerful enough to lift that weight. For that matter, the car probably would not fit. Oh, well, I use it to hoist my bike.

Another problem you might have would be steering since the front wheels don't move side to side.
Your cute title attracted me to your article. You have a good eye for seeing a great photo opportunity.
