Bartering for a baby grand piano

I have bartered doing wood floors for lots of different things over the years. I have refinished floors in exchange for over 8 different vehicles. One of my most interesting trades was for a baby grand piano. Sometimes it is just a matter of suggesting an exchange. Sometimes it is a suggestion by the customer because of a shortage of cash. In this case the piano was in the way of doing the floors. I had to accept the piano before the work could begin. I have had the piano now for over 50 years. I learned to play piano when I was 8 years old. Since every other instrument's music is based on piano music it is a handy skill to have. I am a piano player and by no means a pianist. I piano player is someone who can make some semblance of music from a piano keyboard. A Pianist is someone who has mastered the instrument. I think that playing in a rock and roll band in the late 1960's and early 1970's ruined my piano playing skills. |
