I made a guitar
By Frankly Gallup of TheLeadDawg.us
I have found that using business leads groups as an effective way to promote both your business and self confidence. A leads group is a group of business owners who meet once a week and exchange leads for potential customers. There can only be one person for each business category. While having breakfast or lunch each person stands and talks 30 or 60 seconds about their business. It's basically a quick commercial. Doing this each week allows everyone to understand every members business very well and looks for people who would be a good prospect for other members during the course of the week between meetings. LeTip and BNI are examples of leads groups. I was a member of a LeTip group in Denver when I lived there. One of the things I used to do was to sing my commercial. It was much more effective than a monotone commercial like many people did. I invited a person to come and join our group. I learned that he played guitar and wanted to do a commercial where he played and I sang the commercials. After him not showing up after saying he would come for the third time I got frustrated. I got my jigsaw out and a sheet of 1/2 inch plywood and cut out a guitar shaped piece. I added rubber bands for the strings and got a real guitar strap. I got a few chuckles when I presented my handmade guitar at the next meeting. Using a Roy Rodgers song my song went something like this: Happy wood floors to you Until we meet again Happy wood floors to you Keep smiling on til then Happy wood floors to you Until we meet again If you would like happy wood floors call.... The following week my guitar and me did a version of the 1960's song Where have all the Flowers gone? Where have all the wood floors gone? Long time passing Where have all the wood floors gone? Long Long time ago Where have all wood floors gone? Under carpets most of them The answer my friends is (my business name) The answer is (my business name) Creative marketing works and you just need to use your imagination. |
