Restaurants make great camera adventures

I never go to a restaurant anymore without my digital camera and neither should you. Food makes for great website pictures. When I go to Red Lobster I take my camera. If I go to McDonald's, I take my camera. Everything in a restaurant is a potential website. Recently when my wife and I took my son out to Red Lobster for his birthday I got pictures of my iced tea, my wife's pink lemonade, my lobster, my son's lobster, the interesting pattern in the table, and an interesting design in the glass next to me. In this day and age of digital photography it costs nothing to take these kinds of pictures. What's really nice is you don't have to worry about copyright when you get to using them. Not only is it a good idea to stockpile your own pictures for future use but people ask what you are doing. I simply tell them I am a photographer for AnyKeyGraphics . You can just say you are a photographer for (Your website). That makes for a great marketing opening to talk about your business. People are fascinated by cameras. Be careful though as this is very addicting. When you find yourself taking a picture of the top of a red parking lot pole outside the restaurant because of the interesting texture you will know you are hooked. Supermarkets are also a great picture place. After taking a picture of the peaches, carrots, towels and garbage cans a rumor started that the supermarket was going to be sold and I was taking pictures for the new owner. I use a lot of these pictures to make splash pages. I use some for interesting backgrounds for pages and still others for the topics of webpages. I have taken pictures at Red Lobster, McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Macy's, Target, Mongolian Grill, Rite Aid Drug, A local Mexican Restaurant, Burger King, and many other places. With a little care you can avoid including the trademarked name and logos in your pictures. |

You are correct when you say that taking photos is addictive. I carry a small camera in my handbag, and see so many things that are interesting.
I'm glad you mentioned avoiding photographing copyrighted logos and trademarks. Also, many art galleries or specialty shops don't allow photographs of their original works. I've gotten some great designs from photographing ordinary objects in an usual way. I try to carry my camera with me whenever I go out in public.
