Second most highly traded commodity in the World
By Franklyn Gallup of WoodFloorist.com
Of course the most highly traded commodity in the world is oil. The second most highly traded commodity in the world is coffee. Coffee is also one of the most consumed beverages in the world as well and is second only to water. There are over 110 million coffee drinkers in the United States alone. Approximately 400 million cups of coffee are consumed daily. I was recently contacted by someone who works with a company which offers coffee that can help with weight reduction, supply vitamins, help with your focus and of course boost your energy. "People may forget to take their supplements but they never forget to drink their coffee." Scott Pumper, President and Co-Founder I was impressed with the marketing technique used to promote this coffee. Simply call Rico at 1-813-472-9767 and ask about a free sample of his coffee which he will mail to you. I had my first cup this morning and it is very good. Just tell Rico that Franklyn sent you. |

I hope this Intel gets you some customers. I like your website. I did an Intel about using webs.com. It offers a very nice web store page.
Coffee being right up there with oil is a real surprise to me, but when you think about it you can see just how it could be. Wonder if the next one is tea?

I was just going off the marketing material. There are a lot of variables and semantics involved I am finding after Arthur's comment.
I don't know where this research (if there was any) came from but looking at the commodities markets, coffee isn't even in the top twenty. Starting at the top, the most actively traded commodities within the USA are Crude Oil, Natural Gas, Heating Oil, Sugar, Gasoline, Gold, Corn, Wheat, Soybeans, Copper, Soybean Oil, Silver, Cotton and Cocoa. On the world market, coffee falls even further down the list - it is very much a minor market. The market in coffee trading has been adversely affected by the introduction of fair trading areas where the price of coffee is regulated to ensure no exploitation of small indigent farmers. Even if all the coffee trading was combined, coffee is still not a highly traded commodity. Claiming that coffee is second only to water as a 'consumed beverage' also is incorrect. I suppose this is 'marketing licence'?

Coffee originated when a goat herder saw his goats jumping about after eating some berries. This is the abbreviated version of the original story.
