So you need an article idea
By Franklyn Gallup of zzway.net
Need a great idea for a new article? Here are some ideas you may not have considered. 1. Check to see if your article title has been used before. This is really easy to do. When I decided to write this I did a search on Google for "So you need an article idea". By doing the search with the words in quotes Google will give you results of ONLY websites that have that EXACT phrase on them. Google results said, "No results found for "So you need an article idea". Results for So you need an article idea (without quotes) OK so I have a unique title. Cool!! 2. Use Free classified papers. You can usually find these at grocery stores, and convenience stores. The have names like Thifty Nickel, Pennysaver, and Free Classifieds etc... They are free because the paper makes 100% of their money from the advertisers. There is usually quite a stack of them. Learn when they replace them with the next week's paper so you get fresh ads. Browse though the ads and find something totally off the wall. Many of these ads are for one of a kind unique items. Someone felt it had some value or they wouldn't have paid for the ad. It also means there probably is someone somewhere looking for an article about it. For example, I found this ad some time ago: 1986 18 foot Crestliner Nordic Open Bow Aluminum Boat with trailer. 90HP Outboard Plus extras. $6500 Clean Machine. I used this ad to make a website. I just left off the phone number. If you go to 1986 18 foot Crestliner Nordic Open Bow Aluminum Boat I used the first part of the ad as the title of the page, Meta tag keywords, and Meta description. If you right click on an area of green on the page with no text or links you will see a menu with one of the options "view page source". Click on that to see the meta tags for KEYWORDS and description. I expanded the web page by adding links to related websites with a little blurb about each one. I could have called the person up and went over and actually taken a picture of the boat with my digital camera and added the picture{s} as well. You can develop an article the same way as I have built this web page. Other examples would be 2003 Chrysler, 1920's vanity, Goats, Siamese kittens. You get the idea! 3. Search an online classified website. Go to The Colorado Springs Thrifty Nickel AMERICAN CLASSIFIEDS Put the word antique in the box and try a search. You should get some good ideas for articles. Try a different search word. Read the search tips for more ideas. USFreeads is another great one to try. Just put your search keyword in the box at the top and happy hunting for a new article idea. |

Interesting idea, to look through classifieds. Thanks.
CONTRIBUTOR'S REPLY
Sometimes a classified ad triggers an idea and with a little tweaking you can make the title unique and about a personal experience.
Franklyn, you just made my head spin... So THAT'S where the kitchen sink comes from...
CONTRIBUTOR'S REPLY
The kitchen sink actually comes from Home Depot but I saw it first in a classified ad.
This is really an interesting concept in researching article ideas. I bookmarked your intel for future reference. Thanks Wynn

I have found this idea can help me get out of generic articles and focus in on a narrow niche that no one has written about yet.
I could get lots of ideas searching for goats, rflol. In fact I Googled up some sites with photos of miniature goats just yesterday. They would fit in the kitchen sink, but it would be easier to shampoo them in the shower, I think. Baaaa. BTW, I gave you 5 points for this one.
CONTRIBUTOR'S REPLY
Just be careful when you are searching for goats. Some of them can be pregnant. If you really get serious you can always use a bathtub as a kitchen sink. You will need to modify it so the faucets come in from the side and the top of the tub is level with the counter top but it can be done.
Hi Franklyn, An even better idea would be to build a title using some of the hundreds keywords you have discovered for your niche market. Best wishes. Reg More about my interests here. Grab an ebook bargain before I replace the stock.

That is exactly the point. Search the classified ads online to get suggestions by putting hundreds of the keywords you have for your niche market one at a time. This is merely a free association tool to suggest hundreds of possibilities that you might not think of. Sometimes a person can't see the message on the chair because they are sitting on it. Idea number 1 is also important about that unique title. I just checked and already the article title is #1 out of 163,000,000 on THE major search engine.
The key to success in the image of your stairway, is getting up stairs without a handrail! HELP, I've fallen!! Thank you for sharing this helpful information, Franklyn. Thanks for the external links. Best wishes. Frederick
CONTRIBUTOR'S REPLY
This picture was taken before I added the handrail. I used the stairs to install it. I could say it is just a spot on the camera lens but then that would take away from your effort to encourage people to look at my pictures so I won't.
Obviously someone heard you and let you out of the trap. Have a good time finding the microwave, Franklyn! Best to you. Frederick
Great idea... thanks! Sometimes I look through magazines for ideas and someone told me about Regator.com for searching blogs and posts, too.

Thanks that just gave me another idea..(as if I need another idea)
