Using animated graphics to promote your website

It has been said that a picture is worth a 1000 words. Have you ever considered how many words an animated picture is worth? I am going to show you some animated splash pages I use to promote my website on traffic exchanges. A splash page is a short eye catching simple page that links to your main page in a new window. Since the page has very little content it loads fast which is essential for successfully using traffic exchanges as part of your marketing strategy. Rather than adding a lot of words here I will just add links to some so you can see how they work. The Secret of using windows This web page has META Tags including a title tag, description tag and keyword tag. Right click on the page off to the side and select "view source code" to see these. These help it possibly end up with some search engine placement. You should add these to every splash page you make. The title of the page is above the graphic. The graphic itself is a Smiley which I have enlarged using width="300" in the IMG SCR variable in the HTML code. You can change this so that your graphic is large enough to catch attention but not so large as to require scrolling to see it all. I also make it so the words below the graphic are visible without scrolling. Notice I don't say more of what. Much of marketing is peaking curiosity. A splash page is a teaser page. If you tell too much you take away the incentive to click on the picture. Thank you. I look at different ideas all the time. There is much to think about.
Splash pages are neat. I like to draw animations, but it is time consuming. I have been on a month's vacation and am not quite home yet, but maybe I will find some of my old animations and put them in an intel. See what you do to get my creativity flowing?!

Thank you. I have tried a little bit of everything. Made plenty of mistakes but learned from each of them.
Thanks for the information. I love reading about new ways to draw attention to our web pages and articles. I like photographs and graphic art better than animation, but I might give it a try some day.
