Using pictures at Craft shows By Franklyn Gallup of Hour4Hourtimeexchange Craft shows are a great place to promote your hobby but can be a lot of work. I have found that setting up and packing up after can be a real hassle. One technique that I have found works really well is to take pictures of your crafts and hobbies and make picture boards. I use 2 foot by 4 foot Masonite panel boards and fasten the pictures to the boards. I then cover the these boards with Plexiglas. This protects the pictures in case of rain or wind. Using picture boards has several advantages. It allows for you to set up easily and quickly. It removes the worry that things will get damaged or stolen and allows you freedom to network with other vendors at the show. I have used this technique with wood crafts, stained glass, wood floors, games, and jewelery. Because I can focus on the people who stop and answer questions without worrying about the crafts I usually end up with more orders and build better relationships for future sales. I often leave the booth unattended and go network with other vendors. It is amazing what you can learn form other vendors at a craft show.
