Would you dress like a cow for free food?
By Franklyn Gallup
I never would have asked this question prior to seeing the video, Cows Loose in a Restaurant Apparently, a lot of people would answer yes. In fact last year over 250,000 people said, "Yes they would indeed dress up like a cow to get free food." They would also stand in a line with other people dressed like cows to get free food. Amazing!! Is this just clever marketing or a sign of the times and the economy? I know some women who would knock you clear into next Sunday if you said they looked like a cow. And what would happen if a bull came into the restaurant? It seems there are people that think all cows are Holsteins. Let me know what you think. P.S. I am not a cow nor do I own a Chick-fil-A restaurant. I just thought it was an interesting video and an interesting video marketing concept. |

Looks like fun. For free food I would dress like anything that didn't scare the children.
If someone provided the costume for me, I certainly would, though I wouldn't do it for chick-fil-A. Now, say "In and Out Burger" and then we're talkin'. ;)

The idea here is cows trying to get you to eat more chicken instead of hamburger. I will see if I can find you a chicken costume

Yes, I would think the idea fun and I would do it. I might donate the free food to a homeless person or something like that.

Hi Franklyn, I guess I just live a sheltered life. I have no idea what Chic-fil-A is or In and Out Burger. I had to dress up in a uniform (costume?) for nearly 34 years...And yes it was so my family and I could eat...so, now that I'm retired I wouldn't dress in any type of costume to get free food. Besides, I got free hotdogs and smokies and a cola today, just because I shop at the Co-op grocery store. They also gave me a cheque (check) as my share of the profits the store made last year. (A co-op is a business owned by the public. You pay $10 or $20 to join and elect a board of directors to oversee the operation of the business. In this case, the co-op has a grocery store, two card-lock gas stations...you need a special card to unlock the pumps and you get a monthly bill for the gas you've used...and a bulk fuel oil distributorship. The businesses run like any other business and the profits are divided between all the people who have memberships. The profit division is based on the amount of money you spend during the year at the three co-op businesses. Geesh, maybe I should have made this comment into an Intel. It's long enough! gilbertg
Something is, um, fishy here. All of the outfits look the same. I could probably do the cow thing. I'm not sure what I would be capable of doing on "pasta appreciation day"...

Well it isn't surprising that the outfits are similar. The franchise provides a website to purchase or create cow costumes. Their billboards are funny too. EAT MOR CHIKIN BAH - HAMBURGR DRESS LIKE ME GIT FREE CHIKIN The idea is cows painting signs encouraging you to eat chicken and not hamburgers. Even though cows are atrocious at spelling the marketing is brilliant and very effective.
